Chiang Saen is a historic town in northern Thailand, located in Chiang Rai Province, along the banks of the Mekong River near the borders of Laos and Myanmar. It is one of the oldest towns in Thailand, with a rich history dating back to the 7th century when it was founded as part of the Yonok Kingdom. Later, it became a city in the Lanna Kingdom during the 13th and 14th centuries. This collection featured ผ้าซิ่น (traditional skirts). The textiles are traditionally handwoven using cotton or silk and dyed from plants, roots, and minerals. This gives them a rich, earthy palette that aligns with Lanna’s connection to nature. one of which was purchased by Her Royal Highness Princess Sineenat Pilaskalayani. She wore it in November 2020 during a royal mission in Lampang Province, where she presented royal offerings, including candles, robes, and other sacred items, at Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao Suchadara.
